We’ve come a long way in terms of ease and speed of communication, from the days of traditional phone calls to the present day of instant messaging. However, a new age of communication, marked by intelligent discussions with virtual entities, has emerged with the advent of artificial intelligence (AI). And one such communication medium backed by AI is AI voice chat. It is a revolutionary step forward in the development of artificial intelligence because it allows machines to analyze, comprehend, and reply to human speech in a strikingly human-like manner.

There has been intense competition in the field of AI since the arrival of ChatGPT. On the one hand, where you will find a brand new AI tool in the market every second minute, Microsoft is quietly exploring the field internally.

In its AI exploring journey, Microsoft first integrated chatGPT in its search engine Bing, then brought AI assistant Microsoft Copilot 365 into the market and now, by bringing features like AI voice chat in Bing, it has given sleepless nights to its competitors.

On June 9th, Microsoft introduced this new version on its official blog with a note, “We continue to ship previously announced features and respond to your product feedback. Some of these features may temporarily appear in your Bing Chat experience as we experiment with them. These Release Notes will update you on which features have shipped and which are fully available to everyone as of today.”

So, what’s inside the new Bing AI voice chat package?

1. Voice-Activated Interaction

Microsoft’s Bing Chat now has a revolutionary new feature: the ability to send and receive voice commands. Users may now ask questions and start conversations without having to type them in by just tapping the microphone button within the chat.

2. Multilingual Support

The Bing Chat platform currently offers voice command functionality in select languages, including German, Mandarin, Japanese, English, and French. In the future, Microsoft intends to broaden its language support capabilities to encompass diverse languages. Implementing inclusivity measures guarantees that individuals across the globe can leverage voice-activated communication to their advantage.

3. Support for Spoken Responses and Text-to-Speech

Users may interact with the system in two ways: using voice commands to ask inquiries and using their own voices to provide answers. With the use of speech-to-text technologies, Bing Chat users may now provide answers to questions in their own voices. This cutting-edge function makes interactions more meaningful and enjoyable for the user.

Thoughts

With the addition of voice chat, Bing Chat has taken user engagement with the AI chatbot to a new level. Users may anticipate a more natural and interesting Bing Chat experience as Microsoft utilizes voice commands and text-to-speech answers.

Regarding search engine domination, Microsoft is far ahead of Google in the artificial intelligence battle, whereas Google has just recently made Bard available to the general public. The Bing search engine for Microsoft’s Edge browsers and Office 365 services has proven quite successful.

For the time being, it’s important to monitor the competition; no matter what the result is, the users will get a huge technical gain.
