Features you must know about WordPress

Let’s check out what are those features:

Editing of the entire website – Full Site Editing is a set of capabilities that allows users to edit their entire website, rather than just articles and pages, using blocks. Block patterns, global styles, templates, and design tools for blocks are all included in this collection. Full Site Editing is still in its early stages, but it’s already influencing how users create themes, alter navigation menus, and more. More Full Site Editing features are expected in future WordPress core and Gutenberg editor releases.

Block Themes – A novel innovation called block themes has resulted from full site editing. A block theme is a WordPress theme that uses block-based templates solely. As a result, the Gutenberg block editor may be used to modify any component of the site, including headers, footers, sidebars, post text, and more.

Adoption of Version 5.8.1 – WordPress version 5.8.1 was released to the public on September 8, 2021, and included three important security fixes, as well as 41 bug fixes for the Core and 20 bug fixes for the Block Editor. WordPress recommended that users upgrade their sites right away because this is a security release, not just a maintenance release.

This version is likely to be extensively accepted, ensuring that users’ WordPress websites work smoothly on both the front and back ends. Currently, Version 5.9.1 is also available for testing.

Improvements in Accessibility – There are a few accessibility improvements in WordPress 5.6 “Simone,” which was released to the public in December 2020. The most significant advancement was the ability to add captions and subtitles to videos using the Web Video Text Tracks Format (WebVTT) in the Gutenberg video block. The Twenty Twenty-One default theme was also included, which adhered to WordPress’s accessibility guidelines and addressed various WCAG level AAA standards.

We anticipate more accessibility enhancements in future WordPress core software releases.
